These are indexes to pre-statehood court records that are in storage at the Cherokee County Courthouse, Tahlequah, Oklahoma. To help you locate the original records, the indexes include case numbers, defendants (alphabetical), and charges along with the page number in the records books. There are some additional notes as well.
The Criminal Cases are from the U.S. Court Record Book, Criminal Bench Dockets "A" and "B", Criminal Docket #1, and Miscellaneous Available Criminal Cases.
The Civil Cases are from the U.S. Court Record Book, Common Law Bench Docket, and Chancery Dockets 1 and 2.
